TA 101 is an internationally recognized introductory course on Transactional Analysis for better living. TA-101 is a continuous professional development for the psychology graduates and those who are working in mental health. The trainer PK Saru is an internationally accredited Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (TSTA) in the field of psychotherapy.

Transactional Analysis (TA) is both a theory of human personality and a system for the improvement of human relations. Its application to everyday living provides a systematic approach to understanding the links between human needs and behaviours. This workshop is exclusively adapted to meet the needs of people interested in enhancing their relationships and leading a better life. TA provides a comprehensive model to understand behavioural patterns,communication, interpersonal relationship, motivation, time management, attitudes, conflict management, and life span development for better living.
 

The trainer PK Saru is a psychotherapist, trainer and consultant.  She is an internationally accredited Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (TSTA) in the field of psychotherapy.  She is the Managing Trustee of Centre for Holistic Integrated Learning and Development and the Director of Asha Counselling and Training Services. Mindfulness training workshop for self regulation

Mindfulness- the power of now invites us to heal through awareness practice of the present moment by focusing on and accepting our senses without judgment. It has a positive effect on our whole well-being, both on physical and mental level. Mindfulness is now being examined scientifically and has been found to be a key element in happiness.

Key contents

Week 1     Understanding mindfulness and practice of body scan and mindfulness

Week 2     Practicing mindfulness and concentration meditation

Week 3     Exercising sitting meditation, pleasant events and concept of autopilot

Week 4     Work with breathing space and pleasant events, mindfulness and gratitude log, mindfulness in clinical care

Week 5     Practicing walking meditation and Loving kindness meditation                  

Week 6     Ways to reduce stress during the workday through mindfulness

 

Facilitator

Sister Gloria Rozario, a part time faculty of DECP, DU, will facilitate the workshop. She has master degree in counselling psychology and spirituality from USA and bachelor degree in clinical psychology from Italy.  Currently Sister Gloria is a Ph D fellow of DECP, Dhaka University.

Conducting Psychological Research: Design, Analysis and Reporting

Profile

This short training course (3-5 days) is designed to overcome fear associated with psychological research of psychology or social science graduates so that they can confidently undertake independent research project. The training follows a ‘know-how’ approach of teaching the essential theoretical and practical skills of research.

Objectives

Key objectives of this training are

  • To understand psychological research
  • To clarify basic issues of psychological research
  • To know the research process
  • To understand the basic statistical analyses using SPSS
  • To interpret and report research finding
  • To know how to organize research findings into formal report
  • To know how to use reference software for referencing

Coordinator

This training is primarily coordinated and facilitated by Md. Azharul Islam. Mr Islam has substantial training experience on various areas of psychology including research. He completed his post-graduation in counselling psychology from the University of Dhaka. Mr Islam has also obtained master degree in Health Psychology from United Kingdom with Vice-Chancellor scholarship. Experienced faculties of DECP will also join as per need.

Prospective participants

Anyone interested in psychological and social research can join with this training. However, psychology or social sciences graduates pursuing their final year/master degree or MPhil/PhD candidates will be highly benefited.

Course aim

The programme aims to equip successful students with the knowledge and expertise to support their work as professional counsellors. It aims to integrate students’ counselling skills practice with academic study at Masters Level and to facilitate student learning in the three areas of psychology practice: counselling skills, counselling related theory and self-development.

The post graduate professional programme offers a thorough theoretical grounding with supervised practical experience in Counselling Psychology and research methodology. The principles underpinning the programme are empowerment, holistic development, relationships and community.

Course duration: One year full-time

  • Graduate with honors (4 years) in Psychology from any reputed university/college with 50% marks or (B-) grade or

M.S Educational Psychology

Course aim

The progamme support and refresh the prospective educational psychologists with the latest knowledge and skills required to promote learning, attainment and the healthy educational development of children and young people aged 0 to 19, through the application of psychology.  The prospective educational psychologists will equip with knowledge and expertise in conducting assessment, consultation, advice and training to early years settings, schools, other education providers, children and their families, local authority, practitioners and other agencies.

Course duration: One year full-time
